Some players will come off the board early while others will test the market and it could be 30-60 days before they resign or take their talents elsewhere. While names are great, there have been plenty of examples throughout history where a large deal just did not pan out. But there are other cases where a shrewd team nabbed a free agents that paid dividends for years. We will look at the top pitchers and evaluate their value based on previous history, future use and of course, age. Let’s get right to it.
Note: The idea of buy or sell is based on the estimated contract that the player is likely to get. While I might love a player on a two year deal, I could hate the signing if it was four or five years.
